AB Bank First Mutual Fund

Custom Website Design & Development

Project Context

In 2019, while working at SME Informatics, I was tasked with designing and building a bespoke website for EBL First Mutual Fund, a leading financial investment firm. The client required a highly custom design based on their vision, which posed substantial creative and technical challenges from the start.

Challenges & Objectives

The client’s requirement centred on a unique visual identity and specialized user flows that didn’t align with existing templates. Key objectives included:

  • Translating the client’s bespoke design idea into a functional website.
  • Building the site from scratch to allow maximum flexibility and future-proofing.
  • Ensuring the user interface conveyed professionalism and trust—critical in the investment/fund domain.
  • Later conversion of the backend to Laravel, which meant anticipating and structuring the front-end accordingly.

Design & Development Approach

I began by collaborating closely with the client to refine their custom design vision into wireframes and prototypes. Once approved, I developed a custom WordPress theme from scratch, giving full control over layout, components, and styling. I applied clean visual design principles—refined typography, a trust-oriented palette, and a responsive layout to ensure functionality across devices.

As the project evolved, the client decided to migrate the backend to Laravel for improved scalability and performance. I anticipated this early in my development—creating modular, reusable front-end code and separating theme logic cleanly—ensuring the transition was smooth.

Outcome & Reflection

The final deliverable was a polished, custom-designed site that met the client’s exact visual expectations and supported their branding goals. Building the site entirely from scratch gave me greater control and deeper understanding of front-end architecture, and the subsequent Laravel migration reinforced my ability to design with future scalability in mind. This project strengthened my full-stack perspective—bridging UX design, front-end development, and strategic planning for long-term platform stability.
