Project Context

Grand Sultan Resort is a premium five-star resort located in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh. The client sought a brand-elevating online presence — a website that captures the luxurious experience of the resort while providing clear, quick access to room reservations, amenities, and visitor information.

Challenge & Objectives

The existing website was outdated, lacked mobile responsiveness, and didn’t reflect the resort’s premium branding.

Primary goals:

  • Create a visually striking, high-end experience that reflects luxury.

  • Design a user journey that enables guests to effortlessly explore rooms and book stays.

  • Ensure responsive design so visitors on mobile or tablet receive the same elegance and functionality as desktop users.

My Approach

  1. Initial Mock-ups: Developed PSD templates in Photoshop to establish a high-luxury visual direction — rich imagery, refined typography, and consistent brand colours.

  2. Wireframes & Prototyping: Using Figma, I laid out key pages (home, rooms, amenities, booking) to refine user flows and interaction points.

  3. Responsive Implementation: Built the site in WordPress, using HTML & CSS to ensure it rendered smoothly across devices — mobile, tablet, and desktop.

  4. UI Craft & Consistency: Defined a component-based style (typography, button styles, image sliders) to maintain visual consistency as the site scales.

  5. User Focus: Though this was primarily a branding website, I tested navigation with sample users to ensure booking paths were intuitive. Visual clarity and easy access to “Rooms & Suits” slider were key focus areas.

Outcome

  • Delivered a polished, responsive website that aligns with luxury branding and improves user engagement.

  • The booking path became more prominent and easier to locate — aligning with the client’s business objective of increasing reservations.

  • The site received positive feedback for its aesthetics, ease of use, and mobile performance.

Takeaways

    • Combining visual design excellence with responsive UX can elevate a brand’s online presence.

    • Early prototyping and user-flow testing help ensure visual decisions support usability, not just aesthetics.

    • Building scalable UI components and consistent style guides prepares the site for future expansion.
